The 2001 996 Turbo beat a Skyline GT-R on the track in the DVD I've linked to below, but just barely. The AWD makes the turbo a tough car to take by anything with 2wd, but the AWD Skyline was pretty close to being its match. Honestly, if the Skyline would have beat the turbo to the first corner, the result probably would have been different; once that Porsche's in front of you, though, it's awfully hard to build enough of an advantage to get past it. If you get the video, notice that the Ferrari 360 Modena got left in the dust, as did the Corvette Z51, and many others.
