Sagem Porsche P9522
Almost eight years after the WA 3050, Sagem is back on the market for smartphones touchscreen. After a first collaboration with designer Porsche Design, the French indeed unveils its new P'9522, a high-end phone.
Carved from a block of aluminum and featuring a large touch screen in mineral glass of 2.8 inches, the P'9522 offers the latest technology: 5 Megapixels digital camera, GPS chip, WiFi connector, port expansion and even a MicroSD fingerprint reader directly from the division of Sagem biometrics, to secure access to data from the phone.
On the software, Sagem indeed shown a surprising expertise in delivering the operating system and touch interface P'9522. The device also loads of third-party applications as Esmertec (Java engine), Openwave (messaging and downloading), Wayfinder (Mapping) or Opera, providing its browser web / wap.
Despite the sponsorship of Porsche Design, the P'9522 is paradoxically the deadlock on broadband in n'embarquant no 3G, limited to 2D/EDGE. "This is not a demand of our customers and we believe that democratization of Wifi satisfy adherents of the Internet mobile nuance Jean-Luc Heal, Vice President of Sagem Mobiles.
Assembled by hand Fougeres in France, the P'9522 expected to be launched next month in about 600 euros in the network and Porsche Design at the three major cellular operators. Remains whether porschistes be seduced by this new accessory.
The candybar features an aluminum chassis, 2.8-inch display, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, WiFi, fingerprint reader and a microSD card slot. Unfortunately, the fun and games end there, as there's no 3G radio anywhere to be found
