Car Auctions and the Kinds of Buyer they Draw

General Automotive

For some unknown reason, people believe that cars that are sold in repo car auctions will be worse assets than those sold for a fixed price. First of all, we must specify the fact that in car auctions you can even find cars that have been seized by the government and banks from various persons who failed to pay certain taxes or bank payments. The thing that’s different about this cars is the low price they will start off in the auction and the fact that they usually have no reserve. These cars usually go to dealerships or car parks, because people are not attending these auctions as much as the businesses are, and in the end you will be buying the very thing you tried to avoid.

This low priced of cars in auctions makes the common buyer become weary and run off. The fact that testing is harder in an auction, and can usually be done after the purchase was made is the reason behind their resentment. The problem is that these people did not actually check the auctions, because then they would’ve seen that there are cars that sell for big prices as well. Of course, there are exceptions, and in case a buyer brought an exceptional modified and personalized car, the price might be going up and over the top.

People who usually go to car auction are part of two categories. The first category are those people that go there hoping they will buy a Ferrari for 50 bucks. They are not stupid and they realize that they will never manage to actually buy a car for such a low price, still they will bit on low priced cars and take home a real piece of junk. The second category is made up of people who have no idea what a bid should be like. These people see a car they like and bid on it too much, ending up with a lot of spent money.

Buying wisely in classic car auctions includes high care when placing bids and also forgetting about the bargain hunt. You must act naturally, and even if you think a car is worth the money, never bid more that you planned in the first place. If you want to buy a car that costs very little, buy it because you think it’s a good car, not because of the low price.
